Three ways to serve preserves

A good jar of preserves earns its place beyond breakfast. These three serving ideas need little preparation and leave plenty of room for your own tastes.

1. Apricot yogurt bowls

For two bowls, divide one cup of plain yogurt between them. Swirl a tablespoon of Blenheim Apricot Jam into each, then add fresh fruit or a little granola. Leave the jam loosely folded through the yogurt so each spoonful is slightly different.

Our apricot jam has just three ingredients: organic Blenheim apricots, organic cane sugar and organic lemon juice.

2. Plum and ricotta toast

Toast two slices of sourdough. Spread each with about two tablespoons of ricotta, then add a spoonful of Santa Rosa Plum Jam. Serve straight away while the bread is still warm.

For a table to share, set out the toast, ricotta and jam separately. Lemon verbena and Meyer lemon are part of the plum jam’s recipe.

3. Peach over vanilla ice cream

Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each bowl. Add a spoonful of Silver Logan Peach Preserve and serve immediately. A slice of butter cake or a plain biscuit makes an easy accompaniment.
